There was a day where we didn't have a Catholic Church, there were Jews, Pagans, Islam..but then a man came though a virgin birth...He lived a normal life, his "father" was very powerful, and his other father was a carpenter...he spent time building things, and learning from his biological father...When he was young, about 12 he was in his "father"'s place of work, with his Mother and we will call him his step father...his parents lost him in the temple and when they found him, and asked what he was doing. he said My fathers work, after that his parents weren't sure when he would really be doing this work. As time past he just kept building things and be a holy man...he recruited some people who he wanted to make "fishers of men"...then at one of those mens weddings he turned some water into wine...after some time past and some other stories for different days occurred, the day came when he knew his time was coming to an end...and he told his friends and followers this...and now today is the day that the end is near, Happy Holy Thursday!...today is a big day today the Eucharist is est. The apostles get their feet washed (and in typical Peter fashion he doesn't want to have it happen)and Jesus gets arrested then 2morrow gets put to death...this is the end of the beginning, Today is a BIG day!!! But not a holy day of obligation, neither is ash Wednesday...but i degrees. If you can make it to mass do it!, if you can't its OK it is a big deal, so at least spend some time thinking about how important today is!
