Every year lent seems to sneak up on me, I am just not ready, ready for the sacrifice not ready for no meat on fridays, not ready for easter. This year it will be very diffrent, I am the only Catholic in my house, but people are very accomadating, last night instead of having steakums, I had a fish sandwich, with pepper, onions and cheese, it was awesome. Anyway, what does lent really mean, most CEO's (Chirstmas & Easter Onlys see it as that pain in the butt time that I have to give some thing up half heartedly and not eat meat on Fridays. I as a passionate Catholic see it as a time to refeclt on the past year and what did I have most problems with, was it language, or thoughts, maybe looking at impure things, laziness. I can tell you it was all of these things and that is what I want to work on or "give up".
I can't give a how to blog, I am just a man who strives to be holy, who is a brother, a son, a boyfriend, song writer, worshiper, friend, blogger. I can't be perfect God was not a part of that description, I can tell you I have changed over the years of doing this I have become a Man, instead of being a boy. Lent isn't a time to give stuff up, it is a time to grow and work to be closer to God...that is all it is about. Every day getting closer, at Queen of Heaven you can join the "40 day" club making it to mass everyday for the 40 days of lent...
Lent is a very special time use it to GROW!
